A Voice for Radio, With Oprah’s Ambition

At Mercy High School in Farmington Hills, Mich., Dawn Hill’s classmates voted her “most likely to become Oprah.” Ms. Hill, 24, is a local producer and a fledgling voice-over artist for commercials on the radio stations WBLS and WLIB. Her primary responsibilities are “The Yolanda Adams Morning Show,” on WLIB (1190 AM), which plays gospel music, and “Middays With Egypt,” on WBLS (107.5 FM), which plays R&B. Raised in Detroit, she graduated from Howard University in 2008 and lives in Harlem with two roommates.
